The Board continues to address skill shortages in the construction industry by providing an $8,000 training fee to encourage the employment of additional apprentices.
You can get this money on top of all other Commonwealth and State Government subsidies - which could give you a total of $12,000.
The value the Tasmanian building and construction industry has placed on the program is reflected in the high level of participation.
Categories eligible for funding are bituminous surfacing, bricklaying, concreting, floor and wall tiling, mechanical services plumbing (BCP30203), plant operators, road construction and maintenance, road marking, roof tiling, sign writing, solid plastering, sprinkler fitters, stonemasonry and wall and ceiling lining.
You will need to sign up a new apprentice in these categories and start their employment between 1 June 2008 and 31 March 2009.
