The Tasmanian Building and Construction Industry Training Board (TBCITB) was established under the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund Act 1990 to facilitate quality training for the building and construction industry.

The Main Functions of the Board are to:

1. Provide advice to Government on matters relating to training in the Tasmanian building and construction industry
2. Promote training in the building and construction industry.
3. Facilitate training in the building and construction industry by means of the training fund. Priorities for training are set out in the Board's annual Training Plan. Any member of the building and construction industry may apply to the Board for funding for training.
