Priority for attendance at training programs funded from the levy will be given to persons:

• Employed, directly or indirectly, in work regarded as building or construction as defined in Schedule 2 of the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund Act 1990

Indirectly means people in other occupations can also attend training on this basis providing the firm they work for is at least 90% involved in completing on site building and construction work as defined in Schedule 2.

Employees and principals of organisations not deemed to be in the building industry, but with the requirement to pay the levy from time to time, may attend training courses funded by the Board. Whether or not fees will be charged will be at the discretion of the Board and will depend largely on the type of work the people are involved in and whether the work is defined under Schedule 2.
