Waterproofing – Wet Areas workshop provides the skills and knowledge required to understand the BCA requirements for waterproofing of internal wet areas such as bathrooms, laundries in building and construction projects.
This workshop provides the skills and knowledge to understand:
o Internal wet area construction relevant to BCA requirements.
o BCA (NCC) and AS 3740-2010 Waterproofing of Domestic Wet Areas compliance.
o Practical design principles and applications to achieve compliant internal wet areas, and identification of defects and non-compliant practises.
At the conclusion of the training, there will be a short voluntary assessment task that will assist
participants to get the most out of this workshop.
Upon completion of this Workshop you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
The aim of this workshop is to provide an understanding of internal wet area construction relevant
to Building Code of Australia requirements and compliance with BCA and AS 3740-2010.
As with all Australian Standards and Industry technical documents, AS 3740-2010 must be utilized
as a complete document. Referencing part clauses independent of informative supportive
information, within the Standard, can be deceptive and may result in the misinterpretation of the
intent of the clause.
To start this program, you must have:
A good understanding of English in reading, writing and communications skills
Knowledge of building terminology and practices.
There are no mandatory resources required for this workshop.
